Announcement on Lehman Brothers structured notes.

Citi distributes a wide range of investment products.  Citi acted as a distributor for notes issued by certain Lehman Brothers subsidiaries and guaranteed by Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.   Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. is now subject to a bankruptcy proceeding in the United States. The process is long and time consuming and until it settles down it will remain volatile. These are unprecedented events, and difficult times for all investors globally.

In respect of these notes, however, we are currently informed that Lehman is not quoting prices for early redemption. Citi is working globally with governments, regulators and other industry leaders to begin a return to an orderly market environment. We are proactively providing information to our clients who bought these notes to keep them up to date with market developments. We understand their concern and anxiety and we will revert to our customers as and when we receive additional information.
